Gizmo
Don't forget Gizmo
Gizmo has now returned to Easterton and is one of the horses available for lessons. With Sam and Giz we have two reasonably advanced horses for lessons.

Eagles Group Vaulting Horses

The horses at Easterton are now under licence and are available for riding lessons with Pat Taylor or lunge lessons with Ann Hunt

Fortuitous ( Sam), sponsored by Ross Offshore, is the new addition to the Easterton horses. He was purchased in early July 07 and is already a valuable member of the gang. He came with 152 dressage points and a history of being a great all rounder.
He is a 75% TB and 25% Clydesdale 9 year old gelding. He appears to have taken the Clydesdale temperament and perhaps the hind leg!! He is already learning the vaulting moves very quickly and also being used for one to one lessons, either on the lunge or ridden once the client is competent to improve him.
On Aug 12th he accompanied GRENADIER to the NRF in Aberdeen for his first trip - A superstar in the making.

ILPH Islay is the star horse of the Group. He is an 18 hands, black sports horse, acquired through the ILPH. He started life as a police horse but had a horse version of a nervous breakdown and ended up with the ILPH. He came to Liz Mackay who has carefully nursed him back to sanity and last year he won the best Individual horse at the British Championships.
He travelled to WEG at Aachen last August as reserve horse for the British Squad.

He carries Individuals and the Eagles Intermediate team.

Ali is now a seasoned International, competing at the European Vaulting Championships in Hungary Aug 07 carrying three Individuals.

Gleannmhor Jupiter is the favourite of the beginners. He is a 15.3 homebred Welsh Cob gelding, a great grandson of the famous Toad.
Ann rides him in Dressage although now he is too busy vaulting to have time to compete. As a 6 year old he won the Prelim and Novice leagues at Gleneagles.
He has a marvellous temperament and loves all his little friends.
He carried the Eagles Novice team to a win at lastyear's British Championships (2006). This year he carried both the British and Scottish Championships Pre-novice teams
He is available for private lessons either vaulting, on the lunge or ridden.

Gleannmhor Grenadier is an 12 year old 16.2 homebred P.B. Welsh gelding. He has very smooth paces and is a great horse for lunge lessons. Due to a serious foot injury as a 5 year old he has spent many months off intermittently due to a very thin and weakened sole but touch wood has now been completely sound for the last year.
He loves the attention of the children and carried the winning Pre-novice team from Ingliston Dippers at the British Champs.

Last Spring he carried the winning Eagles Novice team and our four talented Juniors to the top placings in the junior Individual class. The Novice team were Champions on him at the Scottish Championships.

Ben Madhui is a 9 year old 16.1 Irish Draught X T.B. gelding on loan from Joanna MacKenzie while she is away learning to be a Veterinary nurse. He has a wonderful temperament and is learning very quickly how to be a vaulting horse.

He made his first appearance at the British Champs. carrying walk fun classes. He competed in affiliated dressage and hopes to improve under the expert eye of Pat Taylor.

Gleannmhor Galileo, better known as Leo, a 15 hand homebred Welsh Cob, spent the last 7 years as the stud stallion. Since the demise of the stud he has been gelded and taken up different duties with enthusiasm. He is now much happier being adored by lilttle children instead of being bossed by the brood mares.

He lives in the cattle court overnight keeping his last two sons in order. He is taking to riding and vaulting like a duck to water.
