About the Club

The Eagles vaulting Group began life about 1990 shortly after the Gleneagles Equestrian Centre opened. Captain Mark Phillips wished to offer every discipline and the Centre found a German Instructor called Sylvie living in Dollar. She checked out all of his posh horses and chose Toad to be the Gleneagles first vaulting horse.

I went to see what she was doing with my horse Kathryn joined in and just loved the sport. After a year Sylvie went back to Germany and I was asked if I could take the Group over! Well the rest is history.

In 1992 we formally created the Gleneagles Vaulting Group with its own Constitution and Committee. This was in order to ask for funding from the local Sports Council. We got money to help buy equipment.
