JIMINY CRICKET'S DIARY

ghost written by Claire and Georgia with occasional help from Ann

Day 2 May 10th

After a fairly easy week to settle into this new place ( lots of great new friends to play with) had another go at this vaulting lark. I'm getting the idea of keeping going when these nice girls run at me down the lunge line. Humans are strange! Usually they want me to do all the work whilst they just sit on top of me. This time I had some sticky gel pad on my back so I didn't feel them so much when they moved their legs over to each side of my neck. Thought only ladies who rode side saddle did that.

They did all sorts of strange things on my back at walk but as it felt like a massage I decided to let them move around O.K.. Got a bit excited when I went into canter as one was drumming heels gently against my side. Thought I was meant to go for a gallop but it was a bit tricky on a small circle so gave up and slowed down. Wonder if I will get to jump with this strange pad on!

Liked the polos I got at the end - must have done something to please them.

Day 1 May 3rd 09

First day of vaulting, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Didn't quite understand why they ran to me, so I stopped to ask why, with a confused face. Ann told me to keep going, and finally I got the idea that (as strange as they looked) they were actually nice people. What worried me was when they sat on me because it felt different to what I'm used to. So at first I was a bit cautious, and jumped a bit when they moved. But then I got used to it and it was okay. Had my first shot of canter with Bethany and Claire. Tried my hardest to impress them, and as I started to relax I got into the swing of things.

I think they laaaaaaike me!

Love... Jiminy Cricket x

I do jumping and dressage - watch out for me vaulting!
